This guide will walk through the basic operations and functions available in the various AV systems found within CDM. The guide is meant to be comprehensive and show how all of the functions of the AV system work in each given room configuration. To find support for a specific room configuration, Control-click (Command-click on Mac) the hyperlink of the room style you are looking for.

 

Types of Room Configurations

 

CDM offers various types of Technology Equipped Classrooms, supported by CDM AV Support, which vary based on school needs and instruction type. Below are brief overviews of each room style’s functionality.

· Meeting Rooms: For meetings and non-class related gatherings. Some of these spaces include Zoom functionality.

 

· Traditional Classrooms: For in-person instruction, offers access to a desktop computer, projector, and in some spaces, a laptop connection via HDMI. Some rooms also include wall and/or ceiling mounted speakers.

 

· Advanced Classrooms: For in-person instruction, offers an advanced Crestron AV system with touch panel, laser projector, Blu-ray player, and wall and/or ceiling mounted speakers. This includes the 3 theaters within CDM.

 

Zoom Configurations

 

Many of the spaces within CDM have additional AV hardware to accommodate Zoom videoconferencing for synchronous class sessions or to help facilitate meetings with remote participants. Zoom configurations are categorized below.

· Zoom Classrooms: Classrooms in which an advanced ceiling mounted camera and advanced ceiling mounted microphone have been installed. Zoom meetings are initiated and controlled from the instructor computer.

 

· Zoom+ Classrooms: Include an advanced Crestron AV system with touch panel, upgraded cameras and microphones, dedicated Zoom computers, wall and/or ceiling speakers, and additional dedicated Zoom Room controls that can be found on the touch panel. Zoom meetings are initiated and controlled from the Zoom Room controls on the touch panel.

 

· Trimodal Classrooms: In addition to all the features in Zoom+ classrooms, there are two cameras in each classroom, one facing the students and one facing the instructor, two large-screen monitors, one at the back and one at the front or side of the classroom, a whiteboard capture camera, wall and/or ceiling speakers, and an upgraded laser projector.
