Faculty/Staff BlueKey: What Do I Need to Update After I Update My Password?

There are a few systems and applications you will need to update your password on after you change it.

If You Use a DePaul-Owned Windows Computer (On-Campus)

If you are connected to the DePaul network and change your password while on campus, the password will automatically update on your computer. You can test to make sure everything is synced up by locking your computer (Windows key + L on your keyboard) and logging into the device with your updated password.

If You Use a DePaul-Owned Windows Computer (Off-Campus)

Please follow the instructions here to update your password on your off-campus DePaul-owned Windows computer.

Campus Connect/D2L/Other BlueKey Websites

You will need to enter your updated password when logging into these and other DePaul websites.

Microsoft Outlook (Desktop Application)

This application should prompt you to update your password the next time you open it. If it does not automatically, look in the bottom right corner of the main Outlook window and you should see a "Needs Password" notification. Click this, enter your updated password, and you should be all set.

Microsoft Outlook (Mobile Application)

This mobile application should prompt you to update your password the next time you open it. If, even after you update your password, the app is not receiving emails or is behaving oddly, reboot the mobile device and re-enter your updated password if/when prompted. If this is still not working, please remove and re-add the DePaul email account from the Outlook mobile app.

Microsoft Teams (Desktop Application)

This application should prompt you to update your password the next time you open the application. If it does not automatically, look for a banner or other notification within Teams where it will inform you that you need to update your password in the application. Click this, enter your updated password, and you should be all set.

Microsoft Teams (Mobile Application)

This application should prompt you to update your password the next time you open the application. If it does not automatically, look for a banner or other notification within Teams where it will inform you that you need to update your password in the application. Tap this, enter your updated password, and you should be all set.

Eduroam

If you went through the normal procedure of connecting your device to Eduroam (via the KB-outlined process/via a certificate), then you will not need to do anything to reconnect your device to the network. If you log into Eduroam via entering a username/password directly (which is not recommended), you will need to enter the new password to reconnect to Eduroam.

Desk Phone

You will need to log back into your desk phone with your updated password. Please see KB0012799 for details on how to do this.

Network Printers

If your computer is having some trouble reconnecting to network printers after your password update, please completely restart the computer.
