Google G-Suite: Accessing from an Android Device

Please note G-Suite is available only for staff and faculty.

Many of the G-Suite services available to DePaul Faculty and Staff are accessible from mobile devices, giving you the power to access, create, and collaborate from anywhere using your phone, laptop, or tablet. Below are instructions for configuring your mobile device to connect to your DePaul G-Suite account.

Note: Because settings may be different on different devices, be sure to check with your manufacturer to verify where some settings may be found.

  1. Go in to your device's account settings.
  2. Tap on Add Account.
  3. Select Google.
  4. Type in your DePaul email address. If you are using a long email address, you must enter your full email address
  5. If you wish to proceed, accept the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  6. You will be redirected to the DePaul login page, enter your standard (not long) email address and password to log in.
  7. On the Google Services screen, select your preferred Google services settings. If you wish to proceed, tap on Accept.
  8. On the Work profile screen, tap on Next to install a work profile on your phone and follow any prompts to complete the setup.
  9. As part of the Work profile setup, you may be required to enable encryption on your phone. If prompted, follow the steps to encrypt your device.

After you have added your DePaul account you will now have a work profile on your device. This profile seperates DePaul data from your personal data. You will now see some additional apps installed on your device. Some of these apps may be duplicates of apps you already have installed, such as Drive, Play Store, etc... Those apps will have a briefcase icon to denote that they are part of your work profile. In order to access your DePaul data you will need to use the work profile apps. If you are looking for an app to access your DePaul data that isnt installed, open the work profile version of the Play Store to install additional work profile apps.
