How To Use the DVD Player in a COL Room
This article explains how to use a Blu-Ray (DVD) player in a COL room.
Some COL Rooms are equipped with a Blu-Ray player. In most cases, the Blu-Ray player can play Blu-Ray discs, as well as DVDs and Compact Discs (CDs).
To use the Blu-Ray player with your Blu-Ray, DVD, or CD:
- Turn on the Crestron Touch Panel
Press the large POWER button to turn on the touch panel.
- Access the Home Screen and Select Video Output:
Once the Touch Panel is on, you will be directed to the Home Screen (refer to Figure 2). From this screen, press "VIDEO", then press "BLU-RAY".
- Control the Blu-Ray Player:
After selecting the "Blu-ray" option, the Touch Panel will display the controls for the Blu-Ray player (refer to Figure 3). You can now use these controls to manage playback, adjust settings, and navigate through your multimedia content.
- Volume Adjustment:
The volume of the video that is being played in the classroom via the Blu-Ray player can be adjusted through the volume controls on the Touch Panel (refer to image below).
Symbol Guide used across the Blu-Ray players:
- Eject (⏏):
This control opens the tray to insert and remove the disc.
- Play (►):
This control is used to start or resume playback of the Blu-Ray.
- Pause (❚❚):
This control temporarily halts playback without stopping the Blu-Ray.
- Stop (◼️):
This control is used to stop playback entirely. This will return the Blu-Ray player to the home screen.
- Rewind (◁◁):
This control reverses playback to previous sections of the Blu-Ray.
- Fast Forward (▷▷):
This control speeds up playback to skip ahead quickly.
Please note the following key details:
- HD-DVD and VHS are no longer supported.
- DVDs must be compatible with “Region 1” players.
- Blu-Rays must be compatible with “Region A” Players.
- Do not move the Blu-Ray player while it is operating.
