SSH Key Management

If you have an SSH key pair that you use to connect to DePaul servers and resources, you have the ability to upload your public key and associate it with your BlueKey Account.  Doing so will allow you to utilize your SSH key with the SSH Jump Host service which is a service that allows users that are not connected to the DePaul network to access DePaul servers over port 22/SSH.  If you are unsure whether the server you are connecting to supports SSH keys please reach out to the server owner or your instructor.

To Upload your SSH Public Key:

- Browse to the site https://keymgmt.sshjump.depaul.edu

- Paste the contents of your ssh public key into the text box and click save changes.

Jump Host Key Verification:

When you connect to the Jump Host for the first time, SSH will display the server's host key fingerprint.  You should compare the fingerprint shown with the public keys listed below.  Doing so will ensure that you are connecting to DePaul servers and have not been directed to a malicious host.  It is recommended that you also follow this best practice when first connecting to any remote server.  Contact the server administrator or your professor for the server's public key.
