U-Pass Requirements

Before you come to Distribution please read the following requirements for the U-Pass:

The U-Pass allows students unlimited rides on all CTA trains and buses. Additionally, starting in fall of 2026 students will have the option to add METRA to the existing U-Pass. Metra is the commuter rail system serving the Chicago metropolitan area, connecting downtown Chicago to the surrounding suburbs and counties. The METRA Plus pass will provide students with unlimited rides on all METRA lines. Students completing this portion of the opt-in form will be charged the U-Pass fee as well as the additional fee for the METRA PLUS.  

Key Details:

• Eligibility: Students enrolled in at least 4 credit hours are eligible to receive a U-Pass. This change now expands access to part-time students.
• How to Enroll: All students—both new and returning—must complete the U-Pass opt-in form each term they wish to participate in the program.
• Enrollment Requirement: Students who are not enrolled in a minimum of 4 credit hours by the last day to drop classes for the term will have their U-Pass deactivated and the fee will be refunded to their student account.
• To ensure that the $108 U-Pass fee is covered by Financial Aid, please be sure to complete the opt-in form prior to September 3rd.
• The last day to complete the opt-in form for the fall term is September 23rd.

U-Pass Distribution - Loop Campus

Loop Campus U-Pass distribution is going to be on the Concourse Level of the DePaul Center on September 8th from 10AM to 5PM and September 10th from 10AM to 5PM. This will be for students in the following colleges:

• Driehaus College of Business
• College of Communication
• Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media
• School of Continuing and Professional Studies
• Specific Degrees: Master of Social Work

 

U-Pass Distribution - Lincoln Park Campus

Lincoln Park Campus U-Pass Distribution will be at the Student Center rooms 314 A & 314 B on September 8th from 10AM to 5PM and September 9th from 10AM to 5PM.

This will be for the following colleges:

• College of Education
• College Liberal Arts & Social Sciences
  • Please Note: Master of Social Work students will need to pick up their U-Passes in the Loop.
• College of Science and Health
• School of Music
• The Theatre School
