Ares Library Reserve System

The Ares Automated Reserves System is used by the DePaul Library for managing course reserve materials. This system, which is operated and maintained by the library staff, is designed as an automated workflow to provide fast effective service for faculty and students. Reservable items include library books, book chapters, audio, and file uploads. Students will be able to access the reserve items through DePaul's Learning Management System, D2L.

All instructors will have access to their courses through the Ares Reserve web interface. Instructors will be able to access course materials for the past three years in the new system, and these materials will be available upon sign in to Ares. Any instructor accessing Ares for the first time will be asked to set up an account. The courses will be populated by a feed from the PeopleSoft Student Records system. If you do not find your course, please contact your department course scheduler to make sure that the PeopleSoft system has the correct instructor information attached to a course. Course reserve materials can be requested directly from within ARES, including the option to subscribe to be notified when course reserve materials have been made available.

Complete instructions for faculty can be found on the DePaul Library's Ares Guide.
